About the Club
The Jersey Shore Gaelic Athletic Association was founded in 2014. We are a not-for-profit sports club dedicated to promoting the Irish sports of hurling, Gaelic football, and camogie. We feature adult teams for both men & women and welcome players of all experience levels.
Over the past few years, our men’s hurling team has built momentum, winning the 2022 USGAA Junior D Hurling Championship and now competing in the Junior C grade. As a club, our goal is to continue to strengthen our hurling program while also focusing on the growth of our Gaelic football and camogie programs, creating competitive and sustainable squads for the future.
As we continue to grow, we remain committed to fostering a welcoming, inclusive environment where players can learn, compete, and build lasting friendships both on and off the pitch.
While hurling, camogie & Gaelic football may be the national sports of Ireland, you don’t need to come from an Irish background to love these games. In fact, many of our players have no Irish heritage whatsoever, but have found themselves enthralled with the fast-paced, high-energy experiences they’ve found on the pitch. And while the Gaelic games themselves are great, one of the best things about the GAA is the sense of community.
Back in Ireland, even at the highest level of competition, these sports remain an amateur experience–there are no paid professional athletes! Despite playing in front of crowds occasionally over 80,000 fans and being on television every Sunday, most of these athletes go to work Monday morning. It’s the pure love of the game and hometown pride that drives them. That’s the type of experience we hope to foster at Jersey Shore GAA.
